At WTSTC Rudi was the art editor of Le Mirage, the college’s yearbook. He was active in the band and a member of the Moonlight Masqueraders, a jazz band. After graduating in 1927, he became a member of the WTSTC Art Department. In November 1928 he made a trip to New York City. He later married Austa Parker, a fellow classmate, but the marriage lasted only about a year, and they divorced on friendly terms in 1930.
