The American Begonia Society is a horticultural society devoted to the promotion, cultivation, and study of begonias (plant family Begoniaceae). Begoniaceae is one of the largest flowering plant families with about 1500 different species and hundreds of hybrids.

Regardless whether you are gardening inside in a small terrarium, under lights, on a window sill, or outside in your garden, we know there is at least one begonia to inspire you and delight you! We love to share our enthusiasm and love of begonias with new friends!

Commercial grower: Steve began his horticultural journey with an interest in terrariums at the age of 13. By the time he was 18 (1976) he had started a backyard nursery. Filling the back seat and trunk of his car with his home grown tropical plants, he drove to each local florist and nursery until his daily supply was sold. In 1991, after filling up his two backyard greenhouses and two leased commercial greenhouses, Steve consolidated his operation onto four acres in Lewisville, Texas.

For the past 38 years, his plants have been available in home centers, supermarkets, independent garden centers, nurseries, and other retail locations across the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. Now, his tropical plants are available online to consumers across the United States. Browse hundreds of varieties on his site and find a new plant or rediscover an old favorite.
